RV Christmas

This is our beautiful Christmas tree...Space is kind of limited in an RV, but we did have fun decorating our cardboard tree and I even found an old Avon Airstream type camper ornament that I cleverly parked under the tree.

As you can see...there's no room under the tree for presents...

And Daryl made out like a bandit! Thank you to all of the Grandmas' and Grandpas'.

Santa Visits Sitka

Every year in Sitka there is an electric Santa parade where Santa is in the firetruck at the end of the parade. And afterwords he goes to the Kettleson Memorial Library and the children line up to sit on Santa's lap to tell him all their Christmas wishes.

Halibut Heads, An Eagle and Me

Here I am at one of the local fish processing plants, Seafood Producers Cooperative, in Sitka, Alaska. This is one of the few places where I scanned Halibut heads for the International Pacific Halibut Commission (IPHC) to find tags for migration tracking data.

Here's some links:

Rockwell Lighthouse Trip

Here at the Rockwell Lighthouse Dock in Sitka, Alaska for my Birthday Weekend. Vince made a special flight into town to be here with us. My mother also flew in from Wasilla, Alaska.

Our little fisherman!

And what a fine fisherman he is...unfortunately the catch was a little too small for dinner.

Daryl was acting goofy for the camera.

Here's a picture of the lighthouse from the landing dock.

Back To The Fishin' Hole

Daryl did a great job catching all of his fish...I'm so proud of him.

Ta Da...!!

Vince hooked a good one...

Unfortunately, it got away...

while hooking another good one...OUCH!

It reminds me of the last time Vince got a hook in him...

Daryl had a fish on and Vince went down to the river to help him. The fish got off and Daryl caught Vince!

Lone Llama

We were checking out the residential roads and right around a corner was this big electric fence. I got out of the truck to take a picture and this llama came charging at me. I was scared for myself, but moreso scared for the llama. I was worried it was going to get shocked. I guess the llama was used to the electric fence because he put the breaks on two inches before it.

Cub On The Loose

We weren't the only ones lookin' to catch some grub...check out these videos and pictures. It was quite exciting, thrilling, and scary at some points.

This video is footage of a one of a kind experience for us...a little too close!

Beautiful Day On The River

We went to the Situk River where the reds were running strong. We were allowed to keep 3 per day per person. Of coarse, Daryl always limited out! It was super hot and we had a great time. It's been a while since I've sport fished, but with patience, I even caught a couple.

It's always good luck to kiss your first fish!! And tuckered out ole Mr. Man fell asleep under the cool fan in the bathroom.

I had to get a picture of this one...it's classic, yet darling!

BALL GAZER!!

Sandy Sunnin'

We found a Horseshoe game at the local hardware store and while the boys were playin'...I went to go cut some fresh flowers.

And Peach took a nap...

Later to realize that Daryl had buried her, but I guess she didn't seem to mind!

Hawaii in Alaska

All my life living in Alaska, I have never been to Yakutat until now. This is as close to being in Hawaii as it gets! The soft sandy beaches seem to go for miles in both directions. And who would have thought that you could sink your feet into warm sand in Alaska! The beach is covered with wild lupins, sweetpeas and yep, even strawberries!

We parked our fifth wheel trailer on the beach and stayed for two days. Each morning we had the pleasure of waking up to the smell of the salty fresh air and strawberry/blueberry pancakes!

Isn't that a sight for sore (and tired) Alaskan eyes!
