Eco-Friendly Water Facts
According to "The Green Journal," a personal planbook of eco-friendly tips and ideas introduced by Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, we as a global community use more water than our Earth can regenerate (This is why I only shower once every 3 days...mind you, I don't sweat a bunch or live in an extremely hot environment). So by saving water, we allow our plants and wildlife flourish. We can also reduce the energy it takes to treat our water through treatment facilities. As a matter of fact, the community I live in is trying to implement a plan to upgrade the hydroelectric turbins that supply our water so that we don't consume too much energy by way of generators.
Here's a special tip for those of you who do your best to try to limit your use of water in every way you can. Did you know that the Environmental Protection Agency attributes over 2,000 gallons of water wasted each year through dripping faucets and other minor leaks? You may be loosing water through leaks from your sink or toilet. To check if your toilet is leaking, put a few drops of food coloring in the tank. After 45 minutes if your bowl has color...your toilet is leaking.
